Quiz Tuesday part 15

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

"What the heck is that?" you are asking yourself as the page loads. Well, that's exactly what I want you to tell me (People, what do you expect of me, I just had dental surgery!).

Today' s quiz question is: what does this picture show?

Update: The answer is - spent Bougainvillea petals floating on water.

A riot of pink; perfectly delightful (whatever it is)!

I think it's leaves from my Bougainvillea bush in Quito...there must have been a strong northern wind last night...

P.S. Hope your mouth is on the mend!

agree with wellspring...petals fallen from a bougainvillea bush....

I think you are photographing down - so the petals are on the ground - what they are? I don't know - but nice color :)
Hope you feel better.

You go to immense effort to baffle us--even climbing trees and perching on precarious limbs to get your shot! You must be part cat, part lizard. This doesn't look like bouganvillea petals to me even though the color is suggestive. How long do you keep us in suspense?

It looks a bit like Bougainvillea to me...it's very pretty whatever it's called.
Thank you very much for your kind words..yes, I have asthma brought on by a pine allergy but it's passing.

Oh was I suppose to look at the photo after you started talking about dental surgery!!!! Very nice color.

Monica said...

Not sure, but I wouldn´t mind having a bed of roses like this to sleep on.

well I'm rather late to the Quiz Party today, and it looks like bougainvillea petals are the popular choice.
I'll not make an official guess this week (as the reigning quiz champ incidentally) since I had that unfortunate outburst last week.
Hope everything inside your mouth is recovering!

This picture shows, you have captured the colours of spring wonderfully!

It makes me think of cranberries but since this is not a northern bog...
however, all I can think of is sore teeth.
Hope you are better today!

My guess is bougainvillea, what a long hard to spell word! I have it in my yard in the same color. When the color of the flowers fade to brown I'd like to take a vacuum to clean up the many flowers everywhere!

Bougainvillea. Superb photograph.

Love your quizzes - and your photographs.

Intriguing picture. Thanks for visiting St Margaret’s. (There’s very little overlap but I guess there’s a similar site in the States, I’ll try and find it and let you know).

petals of some sort from a bush of some sort on the ground of some sort...petals from a bougainvillea bush of some sort (I seriously just came up with that...yeah...didn't look at anyone's post.)

I like and I agree with Olivier poetic idea

Well, I am a bit disappointed in you...Granted, most of you, starting with Wellspring, guessed the Bougainvillea petals, but nobody noticed the Mangrove roots which indicate...water! Yes, the petals are floating on water - for a better view please see the post Update.
Thank you all for playing and I will see you here next Tuesday (a bit sharper, I hope ;-))

Love the colors. And bougainvillea is one of my favorite flowering shrubs.
