Uptown, downtown #1

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well, it's Monday. New work week begins...Seems like good timing to start my downtown Naples series, just to give you and the alligators a break ;-)

This is Third Street South in Old Naples, which abounds in rich landscaping, attractive courtyards and parks that blend Mediterranean, European and Caribbean influences.
The area is filled with art galleries, restaurants and exclusive shoppes.

Downtown attire: very casual. That's how we do "corporate" in the Tropics ;-)

I look terrible in shorts :) I don't know if I could live there!

Corporate on Maui is baggy clothes, t-shirts, board shorts, mini skirts, flip flops and for the best event, an aloha shirt and a dress.

Nikon - I don't believe it. Prove it ;-)

Kuanyin - board shorts? Is that a surfing term?

lots of color, that's why I visit here. We have very little still in Minnesota. Though it did get into the 70's!! Go us! Saw a couple of people with shorts, but nothing has started to bloom. without any snow, it's so bland.

I really loved yesterday's fan photo. Never seen anything like that before.

It's so nice there that it's difficult to think to another work week...

We had the sunshine and blue sky yesterday here but a northerly wind meant about 10deg C or 50deg F maximum and the wind cut little holes through you!

yes, the most striking (aside from the red car) for me is the greenery, very inviting!

It must be quite difficult to work in such an atmosphere...

The other day, I took the time to look at your photos from the beginning. You are doing a really good job Izzy. I even check Naples on Google Earth and look up the flights. I will take a flight from Istanbul to Miami or Houston and from there to Naples, right? :)

The guy in the shot is lighting up a cigarette. I don't smoke but I imagine there is a wonderful floral fragrance everywhere, so I cannot imagine doing that.

superbe, comment peut on travailler dans une ville comme la tienne ? comme aimant elle attire à la sieste et à la promenade...cela doit etre dur d'etre enferme dans un bureau avec une telle vue

superb, how can one work in a city as holds it? as magnet it attracts with the nap and the walk… that must be hard to be locks up in an office with such a sight

Not a bad place in which to live, Isabella. The area you photographed is architecturally pleasant, and it's SO clean and well-maintained. Good intro shot!

Another beautiful photograph Isabella. It even looks like Florida. A tropical paradise.

Hey we're starting to see a lot of pasty white legs around Minneapolis now too!
As always-so, so beautiful!(not the pasty white legs, but your photo!)

It is such a different feel down there. And I can feel it through your photo!

I think Angela hit the nail on the head - when I opened this up I smelled abundance and affluence and comfort and sunshine

I am struck by how CLEAN and CRISP looking it is...I miss that.

Thanks for visiting, guys. I can see that you grasped the real atmosphere of downtown Naples, which sometimes pictures can't convey.

Oya - you can fly into Miami or Orlando. But from there it would be cheaper to fly into Fort Myers (code RSW - only 20 miles north of Naples). Flying into Naples might be expensive...
