Masterpiece
...and to finish up my hibiscus series, here's la pièce de résistance! It comes from the same garden as the white one but with such a showy combination of yellow, orange, lilac and burgundy, and so evocative of Georgia O'Keefe's flowers, that people decided (OK, I did) it belongs in a museum. See if you agree here.
Admission's free on week-ends ;-)“Most people in the city rush around so, they have no
time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not."
Georgia O'Keefe
Update: Due to popular demand (?) I have created a poll. Please cast your vote, if you are so inclined ;-)
Should the lady on the right wear a thong?

I love this! Very pretty.
I love how you created this set-up! And what a breathtaking flower!
1. Brilliant photo.
2. Thank goodness the young lady on the right isn't wearing a low rise jeans with the thong hanging out.
3. Sorry for being crude.
I love it. It is worthy of a show. I wonder what it would cost to get a photo blown up to that size?
Great photo, not only because of the exquisite flower, but the viewers add so much human interest. The link is also lovely!
What a beautiful garden you must have. And your photo is quite a masterpiece! LOL to Ming for the thong comment! Thanks for your comments on my blog. Naples looks like a beautiful city as well, the only difference between the two is the humidity!
I agree totally, your photo should be in every art gallery!
I wish you a relaxing day!
THis is a brilliant photo, and brilliant fun too! I really laughed!
Very nice setup. Have you now seen all the hibiscus colors?
As for Ming and Felicia, I disagree, I think she needs a thong :-)
Thong Poll:
Yes 1
No 2
Undecided: ?
i saw the musuem composition and just had to say its nicely done :)
and lol on the voting,100% say Yes
The photo is perfect, and NO thong, I agree with Ming. Too funny. Thanks for the inspiring hibiscus series.
You are hilarious! What a great post today :)

I love the photo and in particular I love those persons sitting there and admiring it
Isabella,
I'm glad you liked my Paris photos. I wasn't going to post the link. I created those pages last summer just to show Paul the Hemingway "sites". But when I saw them again... I couldn't resist. I just love Paris...
When I got here I didn't know the picture on the wall was yours and wasn't sure what I liked more: the picture itself or the composition with those people watching it. In a word: A Masterpiece.
Wow Isabella, what a great shot!!
And the poll stuff is really funny... I don't think she wears one ;)
Saturday night fever!
Isabella I find myself eagerly awaiting your daily clever posting...and today you absolutely did not disappoint! What a fun way to display your photo.
And now, on to the poll....
Great setup, showing off an absolutely gorgeous hibiscus photo. Would love to know how to do that.... PhotoShop?
I really am enjoying your blog and bringing back to my home State from time to time. I used to have lots of hibiscus in my backyard, but they don't do too well here in Paris. Thanks again for all of the lovely photos.
i have a photo like this...except the people are all old Danes and looking at a picture of death. Florida does wonderful things to subject matter
Oh Isabella! While I am happy that you agreed to put this to a vote, I must finally admit that I have lost the poll.
I have been de-thonged.
Again, I like this. Maybe the flower (and thong suggestion) are O'Keefe but the black sidelines makes this appear to be an O'Keefe-Rothko hybrid
Anyway, I posted that photo I was telling you about that resembles this one (except it is in cold and dark Scandinavia.) It's the fifth one down (not including the header) on this side page:

Fabulous shot with the gallery folks looking on.
Interesting poll :)
Interesting idea to put it to a vote :)
He he - your blog is wonderful

Your posts are so interesting. I thought it was a real museum piece too till I read. What a totally great picture...
The poll: I just don't think low rise jeans do anything for anyone, thong or no thong...
Angela
Isabella, the poll vote is 50% - 50%!
Shall I cast the swing vote? Ohh...I feel like Dick Cheney during congressional voting season (pre-Democratic takeover, of course!)
:-)
Gorgeous photo, and thankfully no thong to spoil it!
Is there no end to how far you will go to get people to read your blog? Sitting there dressed like that, and claiming that other people's painting are in fact your own photographs. Your outrageous ingenuity it......errrrr ummm errr ...it overwhelms me!!!! Izzy, REALLY!!!! ;-)
superbe photo et montage. l'idee du sondage est tres bon (je note).
superb photograph and assembly. the idea of the survey is very good (I note).
