March 1st theme day: Men at work

Do you recognize this logo? Do you know its mission? Habitat for Humanity is working to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by constructing and building adequate and basic housing. Their actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically, and morally unacceptable in our nations and world.

I am a proud volunteer in the HH project in my town. In a partnership with generous donors, and deserving homeowner families, volunteers like me build simple, decent homes. Our goal is to eliminate poverty housing from Lee County.

This is the toughest job I ever loved...

Bravo. Habitat for Humanity is an admirable origination which does a lot of good. You should be very proud and I'm pleased you love the work ... Your photo of the volunteers raising the wall is straight out of a barn raising. I'm impressed.

:))
it must full of joy though tough as well.
I think in my country we need more free organizations/free opportunities for people to do such volunteer jobs to change our society.
nice shot, nice theme!

I'd never heard of them before, thanks for the info!

You're the first you see who posts the photo of a woman at work (something I had contemplated doing, surely the theme can't be gender specific?) and congratulations also for that!

Good for you! I have always wanted to volunteer for HH because I'm an admirer of President Jimmy Carter. But I don't know the difference between a hammer and a ranch. And I think I will only get in people's way more than anything else.

Do you need people to serve them lunch or drinks??? :-)

Great post, Isabella! I did not know much about construction work until I volunteered at Habitat in my town. They taught me.
I feel like I got more out of it then they did.

Great post; I'm glad you brought some attention to Habitat, they do great things and need all the attention they can get!

Great twist on the theme. That's cool that you swing a hammer in the beat to your conscience. :)

Thanks to all for visiting and leaving positive comments.
Ming - you do not need construction experience. You'll be providing support to those who need it, and learn in the process. (btw, we all bring our own lunches, but thanks for the offer ;-)
