The umbrellas of Naples
No, these are not the famous umbrellas of Cherbourg, but in fact, they belong to my favorite home design store, J. Semmler International Collections, on 5th Ave South in Naples.
But since they made me think of Les Parapluies de Cherbourg and the divine Catherine Deneuve, here's a trailer to the French musical. Enjoy!

belle photo, cette cour donne envie de se relaxer sous un de ces parasols. bel hommage à notre Deneuve nationale.
beautiful photograph, this court gives desire for being released under one of these parasols. beautiful homage to our national Deneuve.
A classic film...and now, a classic photo!
I really like your photos of day-to-day life. Sometimes it is better as historical buildings ;-).
Nice umbrellas Isabella...but am sure it never rains in Naples!!!
Also umbrellas against the rain can be colourful, but the ones against the sun are of course to be preferred!
Living in France, the film is of course broadcast quite often on one channel or another, so I did not open your clip. I know the film by heart. But, I agree, it's a classic, worth seeing and listening to.
Nice colors and athmosfere!
Those umbrellas are gorgeous!
Heh! Amazing. Did you see my Wednesday post also mentioning U de C and Cath DeN?
So romantic! I jus love your youtube postings - Catherine Deneuve has this ageless beauty that never seems to die
There are so many different colors and designs on umbrellas. I have a regular size umbrella with shoes on it.
Love the umbrellas and the film.
I absolutely love the pink pastel color of the building.
I haven´t seen this film but now I really feel like I should!
Beautiful umbrellas in a beautiful setting.
I've never seen this film, but have always thought Catherine Deneuve was beautiful. Compare her kind of beauty with what's considered beautiful today, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, etc. and today's "beauties" come up wanting.
Very pleasant sight. I like this post today.
Just what the doctor ordered. Colds, bashed up cars, the chaos of life - all disappeared as I listened and watched your YouTube. Totally wonderful. Loved that film.
Thanks Isabella. kiss kiss
I just don't know why Mr. Semmler collects umbrellas. Does he know Mary Poppins?
