Sail into the weekend...

The start of the Memorial Day weekend on the Naples Pier.

Some will be fishing, some will be boating, some will be relaxing on the beach.

But the pelicans will remain ever vigilant - any fish you fail to reel in, is their gain :-)

Love the photo; I could participate in all the activities: fishing on the pier or swimming (and fishing) with the pelicans, but I'd prefer to be lying on the deck of the sailboat. Idyllic!

I am so missing the ocean with all of your beach photos. It's only an eleven to thirteen hour drive to the nearest coastline for me!

The pelicans in a row are too funny! And then there's the renegade (let's hope renegade and not outcast) off by him/herself.

... and they say that the Mediterranean is blue! Nothing compared to this (but I still like it).

I like the Pelikans and their opportunities are just a few minutes away. Nice shot.

Today, the final pictures of the series, "A Day in the Life of a Robin," is online. I couldn't decide which picture to use. I hope you get to see them.

It looks just like everyone is getting ready, the Sailboat is heading out, the fishermen are setting up and the Pelicans are gathering for a feast.

Don't think I have ever seen water this color - turquoise all the time!
I like your comments about the pelicans at work, and the sailboat adds a lot of interest.

I love this. It's a beautiful shot, and the pelicans add humor. Those guys are funny without even trying.
