Pastels

Downtown Old Naples, in front of the Opus building, which is the headquarters of a land development company.

Do you recognize the yellow car? Yes, it's the British Mini Cooper, and when I lived in Paris, I would see them around every corner. They seemed to fit in nicely with the French Renault and Peugeot but had an extra "cuteness" factor to them (and you know how important that is ;-)

So can you blame me for wanting to "adopt" one and bring it home with me (to the US)? I even went as far as to build my own model . But then the reality set in - do I really want to be intimidated and pushed around by the jumbo SUV's on the Tamiami Trail (main throughfare in Naples)?

So, no, this isn't my Mini, but I wish it was...especially now, with the gas prices soaring!

Hi Isabella!!! It's been awhile since I've been here! Are you still enjoying the walks? I enjoyed "walking with you".

Love your mini!

I saw one of the mini coopers inside our local shopping centre yesterday - it was yellow too! It was first prize in a raffle.
They're very cool, aren't they?

Isabella,
I can see you in a blue Lamborghini on the Italian Autostrada heading out of Naples, with hair blowing in the wind.
Meanwhile, back in Naples Florida, the yellow mini would be OK. It must be a convertible, though, for your hair to blow around!

Love that yellow color. The background looks good too with the palm trees.

The colors and architecture are a reminder that this is hot and humid. I did a television series in West Palm Beach and stayed in a home in Del Ray Beach. In the mornings when I got up and went outside to drive to the studios, everyone was outside watering, messing with flowers and walking the dog. When I came home in the afternoon, nobody was to be seen anywhere. It was brutally hot and the humidity was dripping.

Other than that, I liked it. My son lives in Jupiter and loves it. He can't stand "home" in Ohio as he says it is way too cold.

So I look forward to your photos of Naples and the sights there as they remind me so much of the places I have been in your state. To tell you how long ago it was, the last time we were at Disney World, the tickets were $26.00 each.

I published a bunch of nothings today - a little of this and that.

The colors seem to jump out at you it's hard to think it is not a canvas.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, peaceful weekend!

M.Benault is in right: look for a convertible one (quite popular too). It's a cute car indeed. there are a lot here too.

Very beauty surrounded... mini in Cologne is more small than this one as it's hard to find parking place

The only mini Cooper in our neighborhood is driven by teen-agers who drive much too fast, and who emulate their father's driving habits. Your yellow fantasy car is quite nice; behemoth SUV's do give one pause. I'd like to have a scooter myself, Vespa preferred.

what a corny building! ;)
I love your Mini, but I do love more the old one!

On my Blog, I show to you the “Right Street”, one of the principal streets of Martel. Cavity it is very except right-hand side, it turns in all the directions. Also have in your city, of the streets with a name in contradiction with the street? (Street example of the restaurants without any restaurants).
Good Day

That building is SO Florida! Such a very lovely flamingo pink.
And I have always wanted a Mini. There are quita few of the new Minis in my neighbourhood, very easy on gas, and also easy to park. And a surprising amount of room inside for a small car. But as you say, in battle on the highway with a big SUV, I think the Mini would lose!

I used to have the original Mini Cooper in the 6O's! Green and white roof! (Those are the real original colours for this car). I loved that car, despite some electricity failures now and then.

I agree that the yellow model is not bad and fits well into the Naples landscape!

I have seen a showroom in London where they expose some very exclusive variations of the Mini (of course costing a fortune).

A friend of mine had a red mini cooper s in the late sixties and trips were a great excitement for 19 year old guys! The revival models aren't so impressive, I think...
Did you show this building before or was it in Boca Raton that I saw something similar?...

The building is pretty, and I love the Cooper too. The engineer in the next cubicle to mine at work has one. I'm too big for one, but that is a neat car. They're actually a bit bigger than the originals too.

I love pastel colored buildings by the ocean. I wonder why they are so appealing?
