Play "Misty" for me...
Misty morning at Pelican Lake.
"Angels in the early morning
May be seen the dews among,
Stooping, plucking, smiling, flying:
Do the buds to them belong?
Angels when the sun is hottest
May be seen the sands among,
Stooping, plucking, sighing, flying;
Parched the flowers they bear along."

I hate to say it, but...I told you so!

Absolutely beautiful. Details lost in the mist make you wonder what is just beyond what you can see.
so beautiful!
Play Misty For Me was one of the scariest movies I ever saw (up to that time).
Lovely pic.
beautiful!!! it pays to be an early bird sometimes i guess..and love the poem accompanying the pic too..emily dickinson is my fav poet..love her works totally....
Mornings are a wonderful time. Hope the mist burns off so you'll enjoy a sunny day.
Mmm, evocative of the Hudson school painters. The fronds in the upper right are a nice touch.
Do you ever sleep, Isabella?
This is gorgeous..misty, early morning with the promise of the day ahead.
As a child I'd look for fairies on mornings like this.

PS Yes, you're right.
It should be an interesting 5 years though my bags are packed waiting for us to be sent home..

I miss misty mornings. We do not have them out here in NM! Beautiful shot!
une superbe photo, et un titre magnifique (j'espere que tu n'as pas connu les memes problemes que le hero du film ;o)) . le morceau "misty" d'erroll garner est l'un de mes morceaux preferes (cette main gauche....)...
a superb photograph, and a splendid title (I hope that you knew the same problems only the hero film ;O)). the piece “misty” of erroll garner is one of my pieces prefer (this left hand….)…
I love misty morning in Autumn. This one is really nice and so well captured !

This is the first time I'm visiting your blog and it's funny because my 10 year old is called Angelina Misty and whenever I see that word I'm interested!
I do photo tours in Paris and I took a couple from Florida around Montmartre recently and they told me that there was a beautiful area, up there, but I didn't realise how beautiful till I saw your photos - amazing!
Everything looks idyllic - it can't really be that perfect, can it?!
Well, all the best from Paris, where we have a new president today, Nicolas Sarkozy, who promises to be a good friend to Bush but with the right to tell him when he doesn't like what he's doing! We'll see how it goes.
Nice picture, it sounds like "Aplocalypse Now", with the trees, the sun and the fog.
Cheers from Lyon ;-)
Beautiful, peaceful shot! Did you do it to welcome Sarkosy? Ok, that was a stretch, nice photo anyway.
Isabella, I've never commented before, but I always check in on your blog for a visual lift. (I lean toward the nature photos, but your sherbet-shaded photo of the Mercantile building in Old Naples is one of my favorites). I think this is the best ever, an instant day brightener--Tracy J., Fort Myers/Naples
What a gorgeous photo! Looks like an old painting :)
looks more like heat haze than lingering mist which is not to detract from the beauty thereof
How beautiful! This reminds me of waking up on the river early in the morning after camping. I can practically feel the mist!
Beautiful morning light. Isn´t ´play misty for me´ the name of a movie? or is it a song?
This looks like a beautiful landscape painting--like one of the Hudson river artist went to Florida to paint! We get a lot of fog and mist here, too...it really is lovely.
How nice some mist can be!!!
Just lovely. Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet, but I don't remember this one. Thanks for sharing it!
It's a tough call, but this is quite possibly my favorite photo on your entire blog!
This is so lovely - looks like I'd imagine heaven to be!
A very beautiful photograph. It's kind of like a painting.
You captured the misty look very nicely. It looks like a chilly morning.
wow!
But i think you were still sleeping... and that is what you were seeing in your dream! ;)
Great photo and poem.
You must have been up early to chatch that lovely photo!
Thanks all for your lovely comments!
Special welcome to Tracy (since I cannot access your blog) - happy to know that you enjoy my photos, and, since you are my neighbor, can vouch for the beauty of our town!
This Mists of Avalon...yeh!
It is a very beautiful photography, congratulations
replayed your yourube by Martina McBride =)
So I decided to browse a bit and jus have to tell you, this is a lovely post - the poem and picture of Pelican Lake - Emily Dickenson is a wonderful poet!
