Theme day - bridges

Don't get me wrong - Southwest Florida has plenty of impressive bridges, linking the mainland with our famous islands like Sanibel, Captiva or Marco.

But truthfully, we cannot compete with the Golden Gate, Sydney Harbor, Le pont de Normandie or Tsing ma.

So I will keep it humble - this is a footbridge over a small lake in my community. Most of my nature photos - flowers, plants, birds, alligators, turtles - were taken from this spot.

It's my private Giverny ;-)

More than a 120 City Daily Photo blogs are currently participating in this theme day. Please visit them here:

I think foot bridges are very interesting offering us a humble carriage from one point to another. Love the fact that you include flowers!

Beautiful bridge, beautiful photograph. Your Giverny indeed!

Excellent choice from a Naples Florida bridge, being as you're so low to sea level, it's a perfect choice.

lots of simple bridges today Hyde DP is carrying permalinks to the bridge posts and will be updated at intervals until Dec 2nd.

Beautiful colors Isabella. I like the way the water is acting as such a natural reflector.

This bridge is certainly worth your mention. It is doing what bridges do! :-)

Happy Theme Day!

I like your bridge and the pond below. I think I have seen everything this theme day. I stretch the limit to three but one of them has ghosts and the other is a mere oil painting. So technically I only have one. LOL

Great choice, Isabella. The blue is definitely stunning! You just missed the two bridges over the Tagus River in Lisbon among those that you can't compete with... ;))
Enjoy your weekend!

I do love pedestrian bridges. . . .They do afford us the opportunity to venture to locales otherwise inaccesible, no?

The flowers are a lovely colour. It looks really peaceful. Truth be told though, it's not quite Giverny, but beautiful nonetheless :).

How lovely! You took a photo of the bridge, but the focus isn't on it but the other elements around it. Love the water and the flower.

Dearest,
When you are all finished or even before, I think you should publish a book of photos of SW Florida. You are an artist. Happy days, J
