Conformity

Brown deck, brown leaves, brown lizard. Boring and dull...but safe.

We are all trying to fit in, not to stir the waters. Have the days of hippies, counterculturists and nonconformists gone the way of disco?

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind, don't matter, and those who matter, don't mind.” ~ Dr. Seuss

The hippies sold out ages ago, they are the materialists they supposedly despised.

Ah - wise words Dr Seuss.
Couldn't agree with them more!
March to the sound of your own drum, I say.

Oh, a reminder...I watched a kind of special about Naples, Florida last night on some channel I stumbled across. It was most interesting. They featured some lady and her two teens and why they liked Naples. She had lots of money as she paid over 2 million for a new house there. The program seemed to put over the point that Naples is booming because it is a tourist destination and lots of people move there after vacationing there first.

I enjoyed the whole show.

I also enjoy your blog.

Personally I don't find this photograph remotely boring. In fact I love that it's natural, real, not painted, not commercial, not perfect - and it sure ain't dull. It's beautiful, it's in balance and it's nature.

And no, the days of hippies haven't gone anywhere - they are alive and well and in my case, living in Menton with a load of dog hair.

I love the photo. The monochrome look makes the veiwer focus on the textures -- a lot of that in there.

I don't remember much about the old hippie days.... but they say if you remember the 60's you weren't there

I didn't get as far south as Naples, but I enjoyed Ormond Beach! And I saw quite a few of those little lizard creatures too!

Wonderful photo. I like the composition, exposure and everything. The angle of the light makes it.
