"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." -- Jawaharlal Nehru
And that's exactly what we did while we were at Ormond Beach in November, every morning we were off to the beach to make sure the ocean was still there.... and of course, it was! Nice picture, it reminds me of the happy times on vacation. Can't wait till next year!
I always know if I click on your blog, there will be words that mean something and beautiful photographs. I needed you this morning and you were there. Beautiful photograph, Isabella.
Its definitely the first order of business! There are holiday visitors here and the other day at the beach I saw them doing this very thing...you know you can always instinctively tell when someone is not used to the ocean or living by it and sometimes it seems that they appreciate it more than those of us who live with it daily! About your family members named Madelaine and Madelyn--this is such a classically beautiful name..it also brings to mind the Madelaine (spelling?) of Hitchcock's Vertigo. :)
Snow in Naples, Florida? Crazy world... ;)) Sorry for having taken so much time to come back here, but I will not tell you about my last weeks… The problem is that the coming ones don’t seem much nicer, at least up to January 14th, 2008… But let’s forget all that; I wish you a nice holiday season and I’ll try to come back here to divert from less interesting tasks! Naples, on the Gulf Coast of Florida - the only subtropical area in the contiguous United States.
Year-round sunshine, white sandy beaches, championship golf courses (and the most millionaires per square mile in the world!).
So come, take a dip, the water's temperature is a constant 74°F. But please, DO NOT FEED THE ALLIGATORS!!!

Nice photo. Reminds me that we used to do that when we came down to Florida. Except when we show up the sun disappears.
Sea, sand, and surf--what more can anyone ask? A great way to spend a holiday.

Great photo and I love that quote you added!
On New Years day in my state, they cut a hole in the ice and people actually jump into the frigid water to start the new year off right.
I, for the life of me, cannot figure out why your photo brought that thought to my mind?

i like what you wrote! how true!
everyone test the waters.
now i am wondering... how many degrees is it? how salty is the water? haha...
You have captured that phenomena perfectly! It happens here too - need to put your foot in the "Pacific/Atlantic/water body name here"!
Love the quote! Florida is a nice place to spend the holidays. Who needs snow? :)
Looks a lot better than what's out my window! Snow & grey skies :-)
