High anxiety

Just an ordinary afternoon in my community...or is it?

If you lived in one of those houses, would you be worried?

No? Well, obviously you have not seen the following:

When I drive around greater Miami I see the black birds all over the electric lines. But for some reason they don't move in to Coral Gables. I guess they were never told that Coral Gables is a bird reserve. With the number that you have, the birds may fertilize the front walk way more then you ever thought possible.

I can TOTALLY relate to this!!!
I have been attacked by all manner of bird.
Most recently a tandem team of a Currawong and Kookaburra - they stole my sausage roll right out of my hand!
I have also been dive bombed or swooped by sea gulls, mickey birds, plovers, starlings and MANY, many times by magpies.
I am involved regularly in near misses with birds when they are charging around chasing other birds, somehow they miraculously miss my head by millimetres (my head is not particularly big, certainly round, but not big!).
Birds and me, we have an odd relationship.

The picture is amazing! The parallelsm is very clever but a little bit frightening! Hitchcock is super!

I am sure they are just as amazed as you are. It looks to me like they all stopped for a sort of reunion before heading off to their respecting southern homes for their winter vacation. If they stay longer than a month, then I would be concerned. You might be concerned sooner than that.

Nice post.

c'est peut être pour la fête de fin d'année des oiseaux, avec a la fin un superbe spectacle et plein de cadeaux.
ta photo est très réussie et angoissante

It may be for the year-end party of the birds, to finish with a superb spectacle and full of gifts.
Your picture is very successful and anguish

Isabella, I immediately thought of the movie when I saw your photo on the portal. Nice reminise, (I think!). Couldn't close the video, tho. Guess I have a few more things to learn!! While it was playing,Chica my cockatiel, sang along with the soundtrack. Your cleverness affected more than just me!!

I guess that as soon as you see a number of birds together, most of us have the Hitchcock movie in mind. Well, I could not worry too much. I suppose they are gone now?

Why are the birds on the ground? It would seem they are pecking away for seed. I bet you threw a load of bird seed down just so you could get a good photo! ;)

This was such a great movie, I've seen almost all of Hitchcock's films.

That was the first horror movie I ever saw. . . .To this day, thoughts of it scare the you-know-what out of me!

Do you have a full tank of gas in the car? Buy plywood for the windows. What on earth were you doing outside?

Aaaaaaah !
The first time I saw the movie I was so scared I couldn't watch it to the end.

I only saw the end about two years ago!!!!

I don't think I'd be very comfortable with all those birds around. Or maybe I'd get used to it...

Seriously, is it a regular sight? Please reply, I'd really like to know.

Amazing photo, Isabella! I am enchanted! Well done!

I agree with Peter, as soon as you see a number of birds together, we think in Alfred Hitchcock movie!

I love the video, too!

Nathalie - this is a semi annual occurance, when the migrating brids from the North stop off at our (sanctuary-like) wetlands, before continuing down South.

Gwen - Virginia focuses mostly on botanical papercutting, but her creativity has no limits! She just returned from a luncheon at the White House, where Laura Bush thanked her for making the Christmas ornaments that adorn the Official White House Tree!
(OK, it was her and 349 other artists, but still...)

I saw that movie when I was a kid, and it scared me so much I've never been able to look at a crowd of birds without flashing back to the crows pecking at Tippi Hedren's face. Eeeek!
