Xanadu IV

Friday, we took a boat trip to my private beach on Big Hickory Island.

Well, here we are - in our own little paradise. Away from the madding crowd...

I promised you shelling (that's what the mother-daughter team is doing) and swimming (that's what the parents are teaching their little boy). More photos here.

And, especially for Nikon, a bikini ;-)

That picture is so HOT!!! I can feel the heat of the sun on my back and the warm sand between my toes, lovely!

Thank you Dear :)
I think I'd burn there in about 15 minutes.
The blue sky is amazing.

The weather looks so nice, Do you know why there is so few people enjoying the beach?

The day looks like it is perfect. It must be an odd hour or a private beach or one that tourists don't know about. The few times I have been to beaches in Florida they were swamped with people except in the winter months.

I like your photograph of people doing things.

Yes, it must be really nice to have this island, this beach available to you and obviously not too many others (despite the number of green umbrellas on the previous photo)!

I cliked on "here" and was amazed by the enormous photo bank you have there!

Yes, I have "my" park, but you could see that I'm honest, I put "quote"!

The color of the sand is quite amazing. I have never seen sand so white before.

I hear Hawaii has black sand.

Looks like a very special place. Quite idyllic.

Oh wonderful. I just love beaches where you have to walk for miles to get into deep water. Sand looks perfect, sea looks perfect, sun looks perfect.

And yes, I'll go out in the boat again, Isabella, to get better pics.
(referring to Menton DP yesterday)

I'd be shelling...

Thankyou for this wonderful trip.

Out of doubt everything is perfect there: sky, water (so clean and warm) and beach: a white, powder and hot sand. So... Why not to do as Kate did? Why not to choose a theme to take on daily? The first one may be: "the topless beauties on my private beach" :-)

je viens de regarder ta serie Xanadu, c'est superbe, et cela donne envie.
Sinon tu connais la chanson "Xanadu" du groupe Rush ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSropm0CpFA )

I have just looked at your Xanadu series, it is superb, and that gives desire. If not you know the song “Xanadu” of the Rush group

Alice and Abraham - this is a private beach, only for my little community. Some days there are only a couple of people around, but during the high season (Jan-Mar)the beach fills up to about 60-80 people!

Fabrizio- you rascal! You are just looking for a legitimate excuse to photograph naked ladies ;-)

Olivier - oui, je la sais. Mais la version de Olivia Newton-John ;-)

Beautiful, idyllic.
Since it is an island can we walk around it - how big is it?

What a great island! I can only imagine how much fun...here we wear jackets on our beaches...but they are fun too.

It looks lovely; and the blues are great. But six people on a beach (including the photographer), according to the standards of Fernando de Noronha, is almost a crowd...

isa said...

Frank - it's a 34-acre island, and sure, you can walk around it ;-)

GMG - you are joking, but our island's ecosystem is as fragile as Fernando de Noronha's - hawk nesting, turtle hatching areas, natural preserve, etc.

The beach can be such a relaxing place, but if you can go to one this beautiful, knowing that there will not be throngs of folks, it does wonders for a person's blood pressure.
