Ace

Our Pro at the Community Tennis Center

The 2007 French Open ended yesterday with an impressive 3rd straight win in Paris for the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, over Roger Federer from Switzerland. Quite an accomplishment for a 21-year old.

I used to be a decent tennis player until I tore my cartilage and had to have knee surgery. Now I baby it to a fault - if you hit the ball to me I'll return it, otherwise don't bother, I won't chase it ;-)

What's your game?

Don't mind a round on the tennis court, but these days my 13 year old son beats the pants off me - ball placement - he knows ol' mum can't quite get there! If he is humouring me he'll hit to my forehand and I can hit a winner down the line....that's all!

I used to be a tennis player as well. But later I chossed a football. More popular in Poland.
Anyway. We have more and more Tennis Courts here. But, unfortunately rent it, or go to tennis school is too expensive.

Florida is really the center for many present and future tennis champions!

Nice that you watched the Open French (Roland Garros). I have been there almost every year, but not this year.

Tried tennis when I was younger, but stayed on a very low level and had to change partners constantly (beginners if possible).

Right now, not doing any sports (shame on me), except walking and walking (no car any more)!

I do love my bicycle -- a passion I share with many members of my family. (My daughter and I rode around our local lake yesterday morning.) I also like crossword puzzles and sukoku, if they aren't too hard. Did you know that biking is good for your knees?

Nice shot. My game died about a decade ago. I have not been able to play it since.

Baby raccoons. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

My game is watching women's tennis and critiquing their form :-)
Do you know how many foreign tennis stars actually train - and live - in Florida? A lot, I don't mind though...Florida's "Cuteness Index" needs all the help it can get.

About as sporting as I get is to ride my bicycle; I've loved riding one from the first moment I had one with training wheels. Though, I have to say, that Florida, Palm Bay and Melbourne at least, aren't very bike friendly.

I love tennis, but I don't like to play when it's too hot as it so often is on Maui. These days I prefer hiking and my treadmill with headphones.

Treadmill with headphones!
Arrgh! Shame on you Kuanyin. You live in such a beautiful place, why not walk outdoors? It's cheap, CO2 emissions-friendly and healthier.

Tennis? I'm just like Sally, my 14 year old is on the verge of beating me.

That's my motto too: if the ball isn't coming to me, I'm not hitting it. People who are competitive HATE playing with me.
