All Hallows Eve

A murder of crows at Pelican's Nest Country Club

"And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!"

~ Edgar Allan Poe The Raven

Great photo, Isabella! I just thought on "The Birds", by Alfred Hitchcock!

Twin protrusions!! I gasped when I read that....not my intent, but I see your points.

I really like your photo today, the color and the subject go hand in hand.

Comme sonia, cette photo me fait penser aux "Oiseaux" d'Hitchcock (n'oublions pas le scénariste, le grand Evan Hunter). Beau choix avec le sépia. Je te souhaite un Happy Halloween

As Sonia, this picture makes me think of the "Birds" Hitchcock (let us not forget the writer, the great Evan Hunter). Beau choice with sepia. I wish you a Happy Halloween

Beautiful shot, Isabella, and fabulous choice of verse.
Poe used to visit his pal H.P. Lovecraft here in Providence. A graveyard that they used to sit in at night is about a quarter of a mile from my apartment.
Thanks for your visit :)

Frightful things here: crows, demons, bats....! It seems that the "left instinct" (Im' not referring to politics) exists even with human beings. I remember some theories on this, including in the best seller "Parkinson's Law", some decades ago!

Nonsense! Bats may fly in any direction when they leave a cave.

The photo's a good one though.

Nice picture, very timely!

p.s. Your "animal fact" is actually nothing but a widespread myth. Bats may fly in any direction when leaving a cave.

I have known men to "come out of the closet" and they all turn left (politically) so you must be right about the bats.

Great photo! Happy Halloween.....
BOOOOOOOOOO

Ka-reap-eee! Thanks for the photo and "The Raven." And thanks for stopping by to comment on my ice cubes. You're so right about my imagination--it zooms here and there.

Vultures patronising a country club - how appropriate! What did you do to this photo - looks like a bromoil, but I didn't think you were into that sort of thing
