"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." -- Jawaharlal Nehru
I didn't know this bird, first I thought it was an Ibis. I don't know how do you do to go so close to "your" birds, Isabelle, I'm so jealous, Breton birdies are so shy!
It seems you're always at the right place at the right time. Lucky girl... That storck is a fast eater. I think we should favour slow food now... ;) Have a great weekend! Gil
Excellent. Really a classic. I assume you saw the intense look and the little foot stomp to scare the hiding fish out. And what about the wing extended to shade the water to better see the fish and not a glare. These animals are something else and what you see here is practiced in different ways with wildlife of all kinds. It is not quite the same as opening the refrigerator, picking up an egg, cracking the shell, dropping it in a hot skillet, turning it and adding salt and pepper, putting it on a place and eating it with a slice of bread, but it works and fills the stomach.
Right Isabella, Thats again the "past" of a fish haha, How are you doing there? The weather keeps bad here... Ios (my dog) is so sick I am really scared, no time for much blogging, have to watch her.
Ios is still not doing well, but she moved more than last 2 days. Ate 1 piece of food and drun a lot... she did not want to play, with anything, she 's sleeping 'a hole in the day/night'
I am still wondering whats going on with my dog, Yes ... I will do a check-up on MONDAY as soon as possible, I stayed up all night but felt asleep beside her in the livingroom, went upstairs to my own bed, with all doors wide open in the house. I could hear every movement.
In the morning she was looking at me, with eyes wide open, but I think she is feeling (maybe?) a bit better. Lets hope for the best!
Naples, on the Gulf Coast of Florida - the only subtropical area in the contiguous United States.
Year-round sunshine, white sandy beaches, championship golf courses (and the most millionaires per square mile in the world!).
So come, take a dip, the water's temperature is a constant 74°F. But please, DO NOT FEED THE ALLIGATORS!!!

Hey Isabella, Thanks for all supportive words,
Ios is still not doing well, but she moved more than last 2 days. Ate 1 piece of food and drun a lot... she did not want to play, with anything, she 's sleeping 'a hole in the day/night'

Oh what a fabulous video. I'm in awe. You shot it beautiful and how marvellous to watch this beautiful bird as it found it's fish. Fab.
Does he know that raw fish is not good for you?
Oh - you're a barbarian!
That fish in its death throes!
