Day 4
For the past 2 weeks we hosted our good friends from Germany. We knew that they were both athletic and adventurous, but they totally wore us out!!! For the next few days I will show you just some of the things we did on their vacations!
Are you still with me? Well, hold on tight...
One morning we drove to Everglades City and bravely climbed onboard an airboat for a Safari Tour through the swamp...What fun! I highly recommend it, if you are in the area. Click here for a short video.
Later that day, we visited an alligator farm. If you ever wanted to hold a (baby) gator or watch an adult one swallow a snake - this is the place for you! For more info, click here.
BTW - how would you like to have that job?

In the gallery of the alligator farm there is a a spotted green frog that looks just like one of my friends.
The gators are paid $5.per hour - not to bite his nose.
Nice work, if you can get it.
The airboat ride looks like fun but not this guy's job!
It's only day 4 and I'm exhausted already!
And I'm only looking at the photos!
I'm loving this vacation. Keep it going...
The everglades trip looks fabulous but (looking at the video) I'm surprised how fast the boats go - would have thought that wouldn't be good news for the birds and animals nearby. it says tho, they'll slow down. Looks a very comfortable way of seeing the wildlife. I'd adore that.
No, wouldn't like the alligator guy's job at all.
Looking forward to tomorrow. I've got my mozzie spray ready.
Hey Isabella,
What a great vacation you are organising!!! Haha You could start a travel agency... Have fun!!!
UUUhmmm.... shall I come-over too? You might need some vacation first LOL
Hug from JoAnn
Does the man with the alligators have to be James Bond?
;-)
Thanks for visiting my blog today and for the comment about me and my PJ's. Actually, my wife didn't say anything about me in drifts up past my knees in my PJ's and house slippers. She did shovel out a path for me to get to the bird feeder instead. I thought that showed her concern.
Thanks again.
I do like your photos. I can't imagine anybody being that close to alligators. I guess he is young enough to leap really fast.
No thank you. . . .I'd rather be unemployed! ;-)
The air boat looks like fun.
The guy in the pen with the gators will be fine - he's wearing a glove to protect him.
The series of pictures of the vacation looks great, a beautiful place to explore.
Well, my visit to the Everglades was 43 years ago! The boat was different! I remember that I liked (and hated) it. Was sitting in the very middle of the boat!
No job linked to gators or snakes for me!
(Referring to you comment on my site: To be honest, I haven't read the Pan Tadeusz. I guess you have, so you would obviously recommend it? I actually got "alerted" about Mickiewicz and his works by the fact that he also lived for a while in a house close to where I live now.)
That safari sounds fun but that man with those alligators must know what he is doing like Steve Erwin.
For this one, I think I'd remain just a spectator.
wow..these kind of "boats" I can see only in movies:)
When I was little we lived in St. Augustine, FL and to this day I can remember the alligators eating stuff. I was scared to death at the time, lol.
