Theme day - best photo of the year

Sail into the weekend. Naples Fishing Pier (with pelicans)

It is nearly impossible to pick one's best photo of the year. What criteria should I use: what I consider the best, or the one you liked the most? The most dramatic one or the most visually pleasing?

So I took the easy way out and picked the 5 top comment garners. Hope your favorite is among them ;-)

I love the row of ducks in the photo. It looks so cute and small compared with the big sails behind.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year from Singapore!

My favorite is the duck one.

I couldn't decide and am leaving it up to the votes. I narrowed my down to seven. Yikes! Hate to say I just couldn't pick one. Come take a look and put your vote in.

I believe "Sail into the weekend" is my favorite of the ones you selected. There's just so much going on in it that it makes it interested, plus it's truly beautiful. And do I count 16 pelicans floating there? Fantastic.

I returned to see the other photos, and presto it worked this time. My favorite of all is the visitor to the white flower. Whimsical to me. I have a 2008 message for you:

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Good morning Isabella! Tks for dropping in to R u T where your presence is always appreciated! I well recall a couple of the "best" shots you chose.

Wishing you well. (I liked the idea of "key word" resolutions. The management consultants seem to have got it right there ;-))

All fantastic photos! I especially love the sea.

I look forward to visiting your blog more often this 2008. And you're welcome to mine, too! For some reason, my link was not included in the participating blogs for the 1st of January 2008 theme day. Sorry I wasn't able to visit your blog sooner. I was in transit the whole of yesterday. I am now back in Norwich after the most fantabulous time at home in Manila.

Happy New Year to you and everyone you hold dear!
