Duh!

Fort Myers Beach boardwalk

Fort Myers Beach is only 30 miles north of Naples but generations apart!

While the yuppies might shop here in Naples, in Fort Myers you catch the Wave, dude. You can pick up some totally gnarly duds, have your hair way rad cornrowed and get a bitchin tattoo of your Betty. All like, in one place!

Tubular!

(This is a rather lame attempt at Valspeak/Surfer Slang of the American teenagers in the 80's and 90's. To translate: You can buy some hip clothing, get your hair nicely braided and a sweet tattoo of your lovely lady. Awesome!)

I'd stop to get one of those henna tattoos.

This is fine Izzidee, i'll enter the shop and look around, but not for braiding my hair or for a tattoo. But at Naples, i don't think i have the courage to enter the shop.

Looks like some of the typical shops you get at any seaside.

Finally, a place I can shop!
It might be a little hard to braid my hair but I'm willing to give it a try :-)

I understood every word before translation for whatever reason.

ah des tatouages à l'henné, il y en a des superbes, surtout chez les femmes d'afrique du nord, j'adore.
Bon Weekend

ah of tattooings with henné, there are the superb ones, especially among women of North Africa, I adore.
Good Weekend

PS. Isabella, I'd like to give you this Schmooze Award which reads:
The 'Power of Schmooze Award' is The Award for bloggers who “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship".
If you would like to use the icon that goes with it on you blog, check out my visualstpaul blog for the photo. You may, if you wish, pass it on to 5 other people. Enjoy!

Bring it on! I'll get the braids and the henna tattoos ....err, actually I can get those in Menton...trouble is we don't have herons and aligators.

re the chairs on Menton DP - I imagine they belong to the householders who choose to sit in the street and chat - wonder if they've got tattoos and braids?

I actually kind of like cheesy tourist shops. The few times we came to Florida when I was a kid, the souvenir shops and t-shirt shops were part of the deal. I've always had a soft spot for them after that, even if I don't buy anything.

Plus, they're about the only places one can buy a tacky souvenir ash tray for my Big Sis, something she loathes like few other things. Of course that's what I buy for her, being the swell brother I am.
