Sun 'n' shade

Third Ave South, downtown Naples

Another scorcher today and we continue to seek a shady spot downtown. This is an area outside a popular eatery, but notice there are not many takers for the al fresco dining ;-)

How are you holding up?

Don't despair - autumn officially arrives in one month!

Minnesota is very soggy and the SE part of the state could use some sunshine--very bad flooding. And after the bridge disaster, it's been a tough summer for us. 13 victims bodies finally recovered from the Mississippi. I would welcome this beautiful downtown are right now!!

I'm holding up okay, thanks!
Only 18C degrees here today (64F)!
Could be coz it's winter!
Not looking forward to those scorchers though!

We just had our 14th day of 100-plus degree temperatures for the month of August. That ties the record set in 1954. We will likely break that record tomorrow! At least our ac is holding up!

Hot here. On the other hand, it's the same temperature here as it is in Paris..... until you get out of your car.

We have been having a fall-like week here - about to change back to humid for the weekend.
The days are definitely getting shorter.

j'aime bien ton humour : "l'automne arrive dans un mois". A Evry, on a pas encore vu l'ete ;o))

I like your humour: “the autumn arrives in one month”. In Evry, one did not see the summer yet ;O))

We are trying to get through this summer as it has been a drought now just recently broken. Whereas it had b een hot and dry and now it is hot and humid. It is dripping hot. It reminds me of when we were younger and would go to places like Texas in August in a car without cruise control or air conditioning. Our weather is like that was.

I told you before that ever since George Bush caused global warming, there would be issues!
We here have had nothing but rain ever since the remanants of Erin passed by...glug, glug.

Today we had a sprinkling of rain! "Hooray" says the garden. However it wasn't even enough to wet the ground under the patio table.
Your pic today is lovely, even though you say it's a scorcher, it still looks serene.

Nashville is in the same boat. The few restaurants that have outdoor dining don't have any takers because of the horrible heat. At this point, even I, who hates rainy days, would welcome a nice rainshower.

It's so hot and humid here that it seems like most of my time is spent looking for shade. This looks like a pleasant place to go for a stroll, though.

It rained on Monday, drizzled all day Tuesday and in the afternoon on Wednesday. So it's been fairly cool up here in NYC.

Thank you for visiting my blog...

As olivier said we had no summer in France !!!

I don't understand how you can be in Prag and in florida...it's a big mystery for me.

In a word, it is WET! Maybe you're getting the same storm systems heading over to Michigan once we've been drenched. I'm ready for some sun!

I'm not making any more comments on the weather! Stop cheating us!

This looks a good place to sit and watch the world go by except there's no world to watch in the heat.

Here we long for rain. It's cooled down just a little and we did have one blessed night of rain a few days ago but it did little more than freshen things up. Lost all the figs this year cos of the drought - they fell more than 6 weeks early.

Interesting your blog has turned into a weather report blog, Isabella. Good for me. I grumble at all weathers...

We did get storms in Michigan, and last night was a doozy, awesome! Leaf clusters blowing off the trees all around. Craziness. It's been like Abraham's in OH, lots of heat and humidity and rain. But today is supposed to be a bit cooler (lower 80s I think) and tomorrow even more so. I really feel for MN and the other states and the floods.

Steve's comment is funny.

We've had a very cool summer on the whole. It usually gets very hot again in September. We will see.

Yeah, them pergola thingamajigs don't block any sunlight. They look nice, but don't help you on a hot day do they?

This summer is most weird! Now that autumn is arriving (and that finally I'm going to take some holidays) the heat is showing its face, with wild fires in Greece, where I'm heading to! Lucky, don't you think?
Meanwhile I leave you in Bali at Blogtrotter. Enjoy!

Just had a damp, cold, and drizzly week in Derbyshire Isabella, i note that so far Florida has been hurricane free this season, hence the calm looking pictures!
