Take me away...
Christopher Cross and his 1979 hit song "Sailing" will forever remind me of California and cruising to Catalina Island.
Does it take you back to any special place?
Come, sail with me...

The sky is beautiful, the sea looks calm, and the sailboat looks seaworthy. Of course, I'll go sailing with you!!
I'd definitely give that a go.
I often thought this might be the way to go.
Oh, what a photo. Just fabulous!
So there I was, expecting to hear Rod Stewart singing I am Sailing - and it wasn't!
We'll sail away for a year and a day in a beautiful pea green boat...
Whoops, forgot! Put a response for you on Menton DP about the Blessing of the Animals and Beau.
Remain it a place I leave too
It's a shame I've lived in California almost all my life and haven't been to Catalina Island yet! I'm still young...
I love boat and water photos. Nice shot.
superbe invitation au voyage, et merci pour la video
superb invitation with the voyage, and thank you for the video one
i love that song..... nice sailing boat anyway.
Wonderful pictures lately.
You really get around, Izzy. My sister's family used to go to Catalina every year when they lived in Pasadena.
I regret that I have never had sailboat experiences. Only ferries for me, mostly in Istanbul, and those conjured memories aren't too special, given the state of the ferry docks. But I do love to travel. I think it would be cool to travel by ship like the old days.
I hope you are well.
like Jilly I too was expecting Rod Stewart -- glad to be reminded of Catalina -- we went there in 1999 on my wife's 55th birthday -- took the bus up to the airport [fashioned by chopping down the top of two mountains and levelling the space between!] and then came back to Avalon and took a trip on a glass-bottomed boat - saw we saw the heights and then depths - a few photos at http://www.geraldengland.co.uk/ca/index.htm
The next day she broke her ankle in Palm Springs which was the start of many problems so we've mixed memories, but Catalina still remains magical.
I loved that song. Yep. It reminds me of a special day on a lake with friends and girlfriends. I hadn't thought of that in a long, long time.
