Lurker Al

This is the same peaceful lagoon as in the previous post.

In her comment, Rambling Round was wondering where the alligator was hiding...
If you enlarge the photos, you will find out ;-)

Have a great weekend and don't let those pesky gators sneak up on you!

Such a contrast between Alligators in this world and cute little deer in your other world. (I'm not sure why Alligators gets a capital A and deer have to make do with lower case d)

Ah, I just had a feeling those gators must be lurking somewhere! The photo just looked "too peaceful!"

What a great shot with the reflection of the red on the water - very impressionistic.
Good to see Al again :)

Beautiful photograph. What is that contraption in the middle of the lagoon, quite near to our friend Al?

Does Al eat small critters such as unwary dogs or cats?

Amazing alligator! Wonderful colorful photos, too!
Have a nice weekend as well!

Yes, but are they the same alligator? We could be witness to a mob of alligators attacking Isabella's friends, a feeding frenzy?
I think that TV's Animal Planet should come to Naples to do one of their TV specials - "Alligators of Naples, vacation at your own Risk!".
Izzy, do any of your friends just disappear without a word?

Now be careful isabella - remember the old song - "Never smile at a crocodile/aligator...."

Obviously the aligators over there like living in a beautiful spot too!!

Thanks for stopping by, I worked a great deal on my new site layout and the feedback makes it worth my effort.

And yes, now you've seen that we do have colorful photos for at least three months of the year. I need to stock up for the winter months yet....

Jilly - the contraption is the fountain "apparatus"

Linda - you are being macabre! (shhh...don't tell anyone, but yes, quite a few of the little dogs are abducted...)

Frank now that've mentioned it, yes, some friends left without a word...I always thought it was me ;-)

Jules - I don't know the song - can you sing a bit more?

I love the red reflection in the water -- and it helps hide the 'gator! :) (oh! I guess that's bad, though, huh? :)

I just got this joke by email and came direct to Naples Daily Photo where I KNEW there would be a photo of an alligator! Enjoy...

A young blonde woman was driving through the Florida Everglades while on vacation. She wanted to take home a pair of genuine alligator shoes in the worst way, but was very reluctant to pay the high prices the local vendors were asking. After becoming very frustrated with the attitude of one of the shopkeepers, the young Blonde declared, "Well then, maybe I'll just go out and catch my own alligator and get a pair of shoes for free!"

The shopkeeper said with a sly smile, "Well little lady, why don't you go on and give it a try?"

The blonde headed off to the swamp, determined to catch an alligator. Later in the day, as the shopkeeper is driving home, he spots the same young woman standing waist deep in the murky water, shotgun in hand. As he brings his car to a stop, he sees a huge 9-foot gator swimming rapidly toward her. With lightning reflexes, the Blonde takes aim, shoots the creature and hauls it up onto the slippery bank. Nearby were 7 more dead gators, all lying belly up. The shopkeeper stood on the bank, watching in silent amazement. The blonde struggles mightily and manages to flip the gator onto its back. Rolling her eyes heavenward, she screams in frustration, "CRAP! THIS ONE'S BAREFOOT, TOO!"

As a blonde myself, I agree with her - I never saw an alligator with shoes, either ;-)

Thanks Michael for thinking of NDP!

I found the alligator in the second photo. WOW! It was definitely well hidden.

I'm curious, is the city doing anything about the alligator? Doesn't it pose a danger to kids or pets playing by the water?
