Independence Day

Promenade at Bonita Bay

This is the closest I could get to red, white and blue...Actually, it is more like pinkish, blue and cream, but you get my point, right?

"...I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations...with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other..." President John Adams, in a letter to his wife, July 3rd, 1776.

To all of you celebrating today: Happy 4th of July! For the rest of you: Happy hump day!

Visually it's far more appealing than yesterday's photo. Have a good 4th. Can't find a small town parade here anymore, tho.

You made John Adams turn in his grave Isabella. He must be banging his head against the tombstone. Please please somebody go tell this silly girl Isabella that i hate pink, and tell her that it is not red in the flag it is crimson. give me her phone number i'll call her myself and i'll give her a piece of my mind.

'Happy Hump Day! Does 'hump' mean the same in American English as English English, I wonder?!....;)

Sorry for the long late comment on the flip side of paradise... Unfortunately I couldn't follow your suggestion on Blogtrotter and visit earlier. Thanks for your comments there!
Happy fourth of July. And catch the fireworks; love it!

Rauf - I bet you would look smashing in hot pink ;-)

Jilly - whichever humping definition you prefer is fine with me ;-) However, just to be clear, Americans refer to Wednesday as a hump to get over in order to reach the weekend!

Hope all of you had a fun day! I still hear the fireworks in my head...
