The Big House

This is the Municipal Jail of Naples. Notice the guard tower?

All the hard-core criminals - those that mispronounce "bruschetta", drink white wine with beef bourguignon or wear black socks with shorts - serve their time here.

So be forewarned: unless you drive a Lexus on your visit to Naples, you could end up here as well ;-)

It deserves them, every last one, and vice versa

This is a jail?! I'm with Nikon here - I think you are pulling our legs.

Where's the barbed wire, where are the high walls? There's not even a sign near or on the door.

Love the tower - but it's hardly a watchtower. In fact this place appeals a good deal more than some of the expensive housing you showed a while back.

Tell me where I can steal a loaf - I'd not mind ending up here.

BUT I don't believe it unless this is some very tidy front hiding a real prison behind. But no, prisons don't have pretty pots outside their door, let's face it. And manicured gardens?

LOL...
I even noticed they have a garage with green doors. It certainly does not look like a jail. It looks more like a palace of lawyers.

Lock me up, Izzy!
Isn't that the place they're going to put Chirac? ;-)

It looks just the place for hardcore retired granny crims.

Geez Louise, what a shack. Do you suppose there is a circular staircase in the tower? Or a gallows? If rauf is going, then I wanna go too.

If I wear white shoes after Labor Day will that get me in?

Of course it had to be a jail; don't you see there is no way out... but only for Naples residents!

Oh, well - I could not fool most of you ;-)
Indeed, this Big House is just...a big house in my community (that pretentious tower makes me think of a jailhouse!)

Blueboat - white shoes after Labor Day rule doesn't fly here - we wear white year around!

Ah! I was astonished!

Funny!

I wouldn't have even considered believing you had it not been for, e. g., the Hisaka designed county jail in Columbus, Indiana. Couldn't find a link to photos, but the last paragraph here mentions that project:

And what's with the white shoe ban after Labor Day. Never understood it.

Bruschetta? Is that an Italian car?

Black socks with shorts. Thanks for the laugh. it's one of those things that's funny because it's so true.

You have a delightful sense of humor.

You make me laugh! And I would never have guessed it is a jail!

Naples looks like hell to me. You can have your millionaires, your McMansions, and your pretentiousness. I'll wear black socks as I stick my boot up your a$$.
:-)

Anonymous - black socks with boots are just fine ;-)
