Casual affair

The Village on Venetian Bay

Since I left the corporate world, I no longer wear high-heeled shoes. For one, I am tall enough, and two, I am not a masochist!

As a matter of fact, that's one of the things I like about living in Naples - its casual lifestyle.
What you see here is our daytime "uniform": polo (shirt), capris (pants) and flats (shoes).

Evening wear? That's a whole other kettle of fish ;-)

I bought a pair of "high heels" to wear to YoungerSon's wedding 4 months ago..... the heels were about 3/4" high, and that's as high as I intend to get! It felt like I was towering over everyone.... you can tell I usually wear flats!

Oh, those were the days in my 20's, 30's, and 40's when I tortured my feet for fashion. I prefer casual to formal, but sometimes it's fun to dress up a bit.

I'm so happy I never had to wear any high heels. High heels is one thing but especially the narrow shape squeezing the toes... When will women be allowed to wear comfortable shoes - even as "evening wear"?

This post really "pumps" me up.
Get it... :-)

Comfortable daily wear. I also like this uniform and flats.

Yet another area where us guys have it easy, no high heels. Though I guess some guys do wear them.

I guess you save a lot of money as compared to the old days. Well, unless you've found new ways to spend your shoe money.

I like the way you made a nice composition out of a crowded scene!
Thanks for the visit!

Those high heels can be torture for sure! I am not tall enough, but I don't wear them either.

And I thought the daily "uniform" for Floridian/Floridanian/Floride/Toothpaste are string bikinis and thongs. :-)

Hmmmm, I remember there used to be a rather rude way of referring to those sort of shoes.

I've given up high heels even tho I'm little. I'll dress up to go out but I wear Doc Marten's on my feet. Very comfortable. The lady in your photograph looks comfortable too. I do like to see a nicely dressed woman tho, in high heels. It's all part of the fun of life.

Me too, Isabella. One of the things I like about living in Enseada Azul (country) is casual lifestyle. I've given up high heels many times ago!

The Maui look is sandals, flip flops or sneakers. My favorite shoe which makes me extra tall are my MBT sandals. They're sold in the Bliss Catalog. They are sometimes called the Masai Shoe. When you wear them, you exercise your legs and butt, and you have to go slow...only wearing them for an hour the first day...or else! They're casual, functional, and well worth the money.

When I was still doing PR in Las Vegas, I broke my foot, and the orthopedic surgeon told me, "NO MORE HEELS!" So, I started wearing Reeboks with my suits. ;-D I wore Reeboks until I discovered Crocs a few years ago. . . .Ugly, they may be, but I haven't had foot pain since. I still love the Reeboks, too, though. And, I HATE having to dress up evenings. Finding plain, black flats is impossible!
