The Big Chill

We are having a cold spell this weekend, with the temperatures hovering around 60F/15C during the day. Too cold for the beach...unless you are a visiting Northerner ;-) Then you are just glad to dig yourself out from under the snow and upturn your pale face into the Florida sun.

For the natives, nothing to worry about - Tuesday's temps are predicted to climb back into the 80'sF/27C.

Welcome to winter in Southwest Florida!

Last time I was there it was cold and rained...a lot, it was very much like our Summers? It was still divine.

Mean, just mean!

Well, I'm off to listen to Johnny Cash and Metallica under my seven blankets and I'll try to stay warm.

Les GIANTS au Superbowl , c'est la joie et la fête....un petit pari sur la finale ;o)

GIANTS at The Superbowl is the joy and celebration .... a small bet (or wager ? ) on the final ;o)

Finally, not much of a temperatue difference with a surpsingly mild Paris at the moment! Surprising also to see how you dress rather according to what the temperature should be, not according to what it really is - we wear our winter cloths! (... and I was sweating this weekend.)

Nice photo. Every time we used to go to Florida, winter or summer, the beaches were like this. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Tourists in shorts. Year-rounders in sweatshirts. Gotta love South Florida when the "cold snap" hits!

I know what you mean. Here the January visitors walk about in shorts whilst I have the heaters on, wear thermal underwear and complain about the cold.

Your cold spell sounds like typical May weather in my area, lol. THe last time it was 40 degrees (last month just before Christmas), that felt like a warm day, lol.

Hey, it's been so cold at night here on Maui too! Coldest winter I recall in 16 years! But the daytime is warm again, so I can't complain.

It's been so cold on this side of Florida that I wore my denim jacket to work two days in a row a couple of weeks ago.

Brutal.

It's been really cold up here. Wish I can teleport myself there for a weekend on the beach.
