Sunday's catch

Some of you asked where I was standing when I took the previous photo.

Here's your answer: Naples Pier. Just me and the fishing boy, each hoping for a good catch ;-)

"Strange animal facts" #10:
Fish that live more than 800 meters below the ocean surface, don't have eyes.

The water looks awesome. That's what I love about the Gulf vs the Atlantic. The water over here is like that sometimes, but most of the time too rough to be that pretty all the way to the sand.

The Gulf is the opposite, usually calm and pretty with occasional wave storms.

And, did either of you catch anything?

You definitely got some good photo catches here at the pier!

Ah, this brings back memories of my fishing youth. Actually, I forgot that I ever fished, in fact where I grew up there was nowhere to fish.
Some people have accused me of having a faulty memory.

The ocean looks cleaner than the Mediterranean.

The beach in both photos looks great. Last time I was in Ft. Myers, they were having problems with red tide on Sanibel again. Glad to see it hasn't hit your area.

I hope the weather holds as I'll be in FM next weekend.

I don't know what the boy may have caught, but at least you caught some nice views to show us!

Just look at that colour of the water! Purely wonderful! We have just had a really historical election day here in Poland!

This is a fabulous photo, Isabella. Perfection with the child in the foreground and that sea and beach.

I really needed to know that fact about fish. Know it will enhance my life and make me more interesting.

What a great way to spend the afternoon - for the boy & for you! I like walking the pier and checking out if people caught fish. What kinds of fish swim near Naples Pier?

Hey, what happened to my comment?
OK. You post pictures like this and say colour is not personal. Blue tells you a lot: F.C.Porto - I was the only supporter while in High School, when they didn't win a dime; Mourinho's Chelsea - The Special One in action; Sea watching - my favourite sport... ;))

Just look at that water! Never seen anything like it. Now I understand a bit of the FL allure. (Our coastal water is dingy by comparison!)

Well, you did well. How about the young man?
