Quiz Tuesday part 39

My brother owned one of those beauties and cried like a baby when it came time to let it go...
I never had such a strong connection to any vehicle I owned...with the exception of my first bike!
How about you?

Today's question is: can you name the car? and for some extra points: name the year.

The Answer: 1962 Corvette! The year was supplied by a friend (not the owner) so I cannot be absolutely sure. I guess we should ask Kate who seems to be an expert (or is married to one;-)).
Congratulations to Kate and all who guessed right.
(Ex- dream on! This beauty goes for $160,000!)

I have no idea, but I thought I'd try! :-)

Easy Isabella!! It's a Corvette, and possibly 1959. If I could see the rear end it would be easier to establish the year because the rear end was modified in 1961 from a rounded configuration to a sort-of-sloping design. I learned to drive on a black and silver 1961 Corvette. My husband cried like a grown man when he sold it to pay for our children. What year did your brother have?

Isabella, My dear husband says the year could be somewhere in the range of 1959-1962.

je ne connais pas, mais je la trouve très belle, elle a un superbe design.
Tu as pu admiré la superbe victoire des plus forts 'Giants' et ce n'est que le début d'une longue suite de victoire au SuperBowl ;o))

I do not know, but I find it very beautiful, it has a great design.
You have admired the stunning victory of the fittest 'Giants' And this is just the beginning of a long series of victory in SuperBowl ;o))

Haven't a clue but Kate and husband sound v knowledgeable so I'm going with Kate on this!

Can't say I've ever got that attached to a car. I liked my first one. It was an MG E something or other - 1939. I did like that but in the end it fell apart. Now if I'd kept that it'd worth a fortune now!

Really tho, for me a car, needs to get me from A to B without breaking down - then I'm happy. And if it's comfortable too, that's a bonus.

Corvette 1961 is my guess!

I never cared much about cars. Just wanted them to get me and my family from one place to another, if possible under safe conditions. ... with the exception of a Morris Cooper (Mini)(mini) which I owned 1968-70. Loved it.

Corvettes or "vettes" were the rage once upon a time. I remember them too.

Hey I posted my guess of the car before looking at any of the other comments.... looks like I wasn't too far off.
If I'm right, do I win the car?

My husband loves old cars, and he guess it is a Corvette, 1958/1959.

Really very beautiful car!

Ooooohhh - I thought the CAR cried like a baby!
Conjures up interesting images!
In which case I think it is a Cry Baby '55.

I still think the late 50s 'Vettes were the best looking, but I sure would hate to pay for the upkeep on one.

I've been pretty attached to vehicles, but never actually cried when we parted.

As for bicycles, my first was a small Western Flyer from a Western Auto store in Ferriday, Louisiana. It was for my fifth birthday and I still remember going and picking it out. I was out of the training wheels withing two months.

My favorite bike though, can be seen here.

Love it as I love all old American cars, but that one I absolutely adore is Thunderbird 1959...
