Fashion island

Chico's flagship store downtown Naples

If you are a female over 35 and live in the USA, you are familiar with Chico's. Or you should be, since you are the target consumer for this retailer of exclusively designed, private label, sophisticated, casual-to-dressy clothing and complimentary accessories.

Their first store opened in 1983 on Sanibel Island, a stone's throw from Naples, and became the fastest-growing women’s specialty retailer in the country. Currently they are up to 900 outlets!

Am I revealing too much about myself, if I tell you I own some pieces from their Travelers Collection? The jersey material never wrinkles, is easy to pack and comfortable to wear on any form of transportation...

And no, I'm not on Chico's payroll ;-)

cela fait très mexicain comme atmosphère. J'aime bien cette couleur. mais la couleur du ciel est bizarre non ?
Mardi, plus de Quizz ?

Tuesday, not of Quizz?

I never heard of Chico's. Sounds like a Mexican restaurant to me:)

Yes, I thought you were going to tell us where we could buy tortillas!

Love the street signs and the colour of the signs, which blends nicely with Chico's. You can always see American street signs!

I guess Chicos have not yet spread to Europe? Looked on the travellers collection. Agree, it looks nice and comfortable!

I like your photo and matching street sign in the same color. Even the sky is tinted yellow. Amazing shot. I also smiled as I read your story.

Nice work.

I have never shopped in Chico's. For some reason the clothes there just never appealed to me :-)
Nice photo though, doesn't the sky become that peculiar color just before a hurricane?

I love Chico's. They seem to have older women like me in mind for many things.

Pour repondre à ta question "Le père Duchesne" etait un journal sous la revolution française. Le "père Duchesne" était un personnage type représentant l’homme du peuple toujours empressé à dénoncer les abus et les injustices.

To answer your question “the Duchesne father” was a newspaper under the French revolution. The “Duchesne father” was a standard character representing the man of the people always hastened to denounce the abuses and the injustices.

I, too, have a good Chico's wardrobe, but I buy them at Encore, my favorite consignment shop that I featured on my July 1 theme day post. I always feel so smug when I leave the shop with a recent purchase, any of which are brand new! This photo is lovely with the "matching" sky and building. Did you order that for your snap, Isabella?

Oh, oh, I know nothing of Chico's label. probably tells on my penchant for farm clothes. lol

Zolt, Nikon, Rauf, Frank - you are such goofballs ;-)

Moi - no need to rub it in ;-)

Olivier - merci pour ta réponse!

Kate - I can't figure out that yellow sky myself (did not alter the photo in any way)!

Rauf - why? have you heard anything? ;-)

Ah, but Isabella, you are someone's payroll, for Chico's clothing is quite expensive. One must consider it an investment for the long term, I think.

Annie - I agree, it is an investment. I have their Travelers set for almost 15 years now...
